AUGUST
Alumni Interaction : Sandesh.S, 2017-21 batch B. Tech ECE and currently working as Electronics Engineer at Bharat Electronics Limited(BEL), Bangalore addressed the 5th semester(2022-26 Batch) ECE students about the career opportunities in Electronics Engineering and his experience to the journey to BEL.
Alumni Interaction :Ashik Mohammed Sali, a 2020 graduate of the ECE department and currently pursuing Masters at Stevens Institute of Technology,Hoboken, New Jersey,USA addressed the 5 th semester(2022-26 Batch) B.Tech ECE students on 16th August 2024. During his talk, he shared perspectives from his experience in the Electronics industry and provided guidance on pursuing higher studies abroad.
AICTE Sponsored Three Days Offline VAANI (-Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages*). Seminar on โAdvancements in Electronics Systems for Healthcare Applicationsโ was conducted for teachers and staff from colleges, schools and UG, PG, research students from 29/08/2024 to 31/08/2024.
SEPTEMBER
Industry Institute Interaction – Er.Sasikumar Selvaraj,Training session head – South Region,SMC Cooperation India Pvt.Ltd,delivered a session on ‘Fundamentals of Industrial Automation’ to the B.Tech pre final year students of Electronics and Communication Engineering Dept. on 03/09/2024 at Mother Teresa Block seminar hall in association with the students association ECSA.
Alumni tech talk session on the “Industrial applications of Core Courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering and an Interactive session on โInterview / Placement failures” by Mr. Suraj Prem, Firmware Engineer, Nextica Technology Pvt Ltd. Bangalore was conducted for S5 (2022-27 Batch)ECE students, organised by ECSA on 07/09/24 at 2:00pm at Seminar Hall (Mother Theresa Block).
Alumni interaction by Mr. Sony J Thomas, a Graduate Trainee at Cochin Shipyard Ltd. and a former Software Engineer at Gadgeon Systems Inc., an alumnus of 2017-2021 ECE batch, SJCET Palai was conducted on 23/09/2024 for S5 ECE students, organised by ECSA.
Three Days Advanced Training on ‘Industrial Pneumatic Controls’, by Er. Sasikumar Selvaraj, Training session head – South Region, SMC Cooperation India Pvt. Ltd was conducted for the qualified students of S5 ECE B. Tech students from 25/09/2024 โ 27/09/2024.
Industry Institute Interaction: Mr.Timi Abraham,Talent Acquisition โ Campus Relations at UST Global led a 2 hours pre-placement talk to final UG and PG students of SJCET, on 30/09/2024 at St.Francis Block Seminar Hall in association with the Placement cell.In this session,he introduced about UST’s recruitment process, the opportunities available for fresh graduates and Post graduates, UST’s work culture, domains, and technologies etc.
OCTOBER
Alumni interaction – Mr. Charles P. Alex, Senior System Engineer, 6D Technologies Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Ajith Kumar, Communications Engineer at British Telecom, UK (alumni of the 2016-2020 B. Tech ECE batch) was conducted for S5(2022-27 Batch) ECE students on 15/10/2024.
“Jumpstarting a Career in Electronics and Related Domains”-Tech Talk by Er. Robin Tommy, Vice Chairperson of IEEE RAS Kerala Chapter and Impact Innovations & Startup Mentor at TCS was conducted for S5(2022-26 Batch) and S7 (2021-25). B. Tech ECE students on 18/10/2024.
Skillforge – An outreach program to create enthusiasm among the high school students organised as part of ‘Prayana’ by IEEE RAS Kerala chapter. The students were given an Introduction to the fundamentals of Robotics followed by a workshop on how to start with developing a Robot. The event was held at various laboratories of the Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering SJCET PALAI on 18/10/2024.
On 21/10/2024, the S5 ECE students of 2022-26 batch of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering & Technology, Palai – Autonomous had the opportunity to visit Cochin International Airport (CIAL).The visit provided indepth knowledge into the operations of Air Traffic Control (ATC) units, where students witnessed live demonstrations of the ATC tower control, approach control, and area control systems. The students also visited CIAL’s 14.4 MW solar power plant, learning about its efficient solar energy generation and the associated systems. This visit was an excellent exposure for the students, enriching their understanding of both air traffic management and sustainable energy systems.
The two-day training program on “Soft Skill Development” for the final-year B.Tech ECE students (2021-25 batch) was conducted on ย on 23rd and 24 rth October 2024. The program is organized in association with the Placement Cell.The session was led by Mr. Roshan Roy, Director & Managing Partner of TalenTus Institute for Transformation, Kerala. The training aimed to equip the students with essential soft skills to enhance their employability; covering areas like communication, leadership, and teamwork.
NOVEMBER
One day workshop on ‘Basics of Electronics Analysis and Design’ to the first year students by Mr. Shalu Thomas, Founder and CEO, Digital Core Technologies held at MTB seminar hall on 15/11/2024.
The two-day training program – “The young professional” was conducted for the first-year B.Tech ECE students (2024-28 batch) began on 20th and 21st October 2024. The program is jointly organized by the Placement Cell and ECSA. The session was led by Mr. Roshan Roy, Director & Managing Partner of TalenTus Institute for Transformation, Kerala.The training aimed to equip the students with essential soft skills to enhance their employability; covering areas like communication, leadership, and teamwork.
AICTE-sponsored ATAL FDP on ‘IoT for Future Connectivity-Insights, Implementation and Securityโ, Organised by ECE Department from 25/11/2024 โ 30/11/2024.
Mr.Sujay J S, Group Director, Mavenir Systems, delivered an engaging session for first-year B.Tech ECE students on 29th November 2024.
He discussed emerging trends in telecom technologies, including cloud-native and Open RAN solutions, and provided valuable inputs to the young minds into product development and solution architecture. Highlighting career opportunities in the telecom industry, he has also shared his personal experiences and leadership journey, inspiring students to explore the dynamic field of telecommunications.
Technical Talk: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with ECSA had the privilege of welcoming Mr. Mithun C A, Product Design Engineer at Memory Technology, SanDisk, Bangalore on 30th November 2024.He conducted a technical talk on ๐๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ก๐ฒ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ป๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ for the first-semester(2024-28 Batch) ECE students, Mr. Mithun shared valuable knowledge into the fascinating world of memory technologies and product design. His session not only highlighted the evolving landscape of Electronics but also inspired the students to explore innovative opportunities in the field. The interaction provided a perfect blend of technical knowledge and career guidance, leaving the students motivated to excel in their engineering journey.
