
National Cadet Corps – NCC
SJCET has the rare honour of being the first self-financing engineering college to have an NCC Coy (Army wing) with an authorized strength of 160 cadets under 17 Kerala Battalion NCC Pala.
NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among young citizens. Further, it aims to create a pool of well organized and trained youth with leadership qualities, motivated to serve the nation and contribute to the national development. The motto of NCC is Unity and Discipline. Dr. Tomson Thomas (Associate Professor, EEE Dept.) is the Care Taker Officer of NCC Coy (Army), SJCET Palai.

Annual Training Camp at Devamatha College, Kuruvilangad
From 29th August to 7th September 2025, NCC conducted its Annual Training Camp at Devamatha College, Kuruvilangad. The camp provided cadets with rigorous training in drill, map reading, weapon handling, and first aid. Physical fitness sessions and group activities strengthened stamina and teamwork. Cadets also participated in cultural programs, quiz competitions, and social service activities. Lectures by PI staff and officers on discipline and patriotism inspired the cadets greatly. The camp built confidence, leadership skills, and camaraderie among participants, making it a valuable learning experience. It embodied the true spirit of NCC training and unity.

Advanced Leadership Camp (NSBHSS, Mannar, Alappuzha)
CPL Bail Vazhathottathil attended the Advanced Leadership Camp at NSBHSS, Mannar, Alappuzha, a program designed to cultivate leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. The camp schedule included leadership exercises, group discussions, drills, and personality development sessions. Cadets were exposed to challenging tasks requiring teamwork and problem-solving abilities, which enhanced their confidence and leadership qualities.Cpl Basil Vazhathottathil has secured the 1st Prize in the Group Discussion competition held during the Advanced Leadership Camp at NSBHSS,Mannar. The competition witnessed participants from the Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka directorates, making this achievement truly remarkable.

NCC Enrolment 2025-26
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) enrolment for the 2025–2026 batch at SJCET was conducted on 20/08/2025 following eligibility criteria such as physical fitness standards and academic qualifications. Interested students completed the registration and verification process and were formally inducted into the NCC unit. Senior cadets and officers guided the new recruits on NCC’s objectives, responsibilities, and training activities. The program aims to instill discipline, leadership, and a sense of patriotism among youth. The enrollment marked the beginning of a new journey for the cadets and reinforced the continuous growth and spirit of the NCC Coy (Army) at SJCET.

79th Independence Day Celebration
On 15th August 2025, India celebrated its 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor. At SJCET Pala, the National Flag was hoisted by Rev. Dr. James John Mangalath, Director, who delivered an inspiring message. The program included cultural performances by NCC cadets, featuring a patriotic song with keyboard and guitar and a spirited dance. Dignitaries present were Rev. Dr. Joseph Purayidathil (Vice-Principal), Rev. Fr. John Mattamundayil (Bursar), Rev. Fr. Cherian Moolayil (Fleet Manager), and Dr. Tomson Thomas (CTO). The event concluded with a parade by 73 NCC cadets (40 SD, 33 SW).

Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025
Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on 26th July every year to commemorate India’s victory in the Kargil War of 1999 and to honor the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defending the nation. The day serves as a reminder of the courage, resilience, and patriotism of the Armed Forces, and inspires citizens, especially the youth, to uphold the values of discipline, duty, and national service.

Army Attachment Camp (02 Madras Regiment, Pangode, Thiruvananthapuram)
The Army Attachment Camp (02 Madras) was conducted from 15/07/2025 to 25/07/2025 at Pangode Military Station, Thiruvananthapuram.CPL Alfred George attended the camp. The program was designed to enhance operational awareness and strengthen camaraderie through a series of structured training activities. Cadets participated in physical endurance sessions, tactical drills, weapon training, and team-building exercises, which helped refine individual skills while fostering collective discipline. The camp provided invaluable exposure to military life and contributed significantly to the professional development of the participants.

SSB Capsule- Super 30 ( Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate Level )
CQMS Ria Rachel Rajeev and CPL Basil Vazhathottathil participated in the SSB Capsule – Super 30, organized at the Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate level. The program aimed at preparing selected cadets for the Services Selection Board (SSB) examination, providing specialized training in psychological tests, group discussions, interviews, and outdoor tasks. The capsule exposed cadets to the rigorous selection standards of the Armed Forces and helped them build confidence in communication, problem-solving, and leadership. The initiative reflected NCC’s role in grooming cadets for future military careers. It was a golden opportunity that motivated cadets to pursue their aspirations in defense services with determination.

Blood Donation Camp
A Blood Donation Camp was jointly organized by NCC SJCET, State Bank of India, Marsleeva Medicity, and NSS SJCET on 25th June 2025. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including: Ms. Jisha Gopalakrishnan (Pala Regional Manager, SBI), Rev. Dr. Joseph Purayidathil (Vice-Principal) Rev. Fr. John Mattamundayil (Bursar), Ms. Vinetta Vincent (Assistant Manager, Blood Bank, Marsleeva Medicity), Dr. Tomson Thomas (CTO, NCC Coy (Army)) Mr. Justin Jose (NSS Coordinator). The event saw active participation from students, faculty, and cadets, who volunteered to donate blood for a noble cause. Medical professionals ensured proper safety and hygiene standards throughout the camp. NCC cadets took leadership roles in managing registrations, assisting donors, and spreading awareness about voluntary blood donation.

International Yoga Day Celebration
On June 25th,2025, the NCC unit of SJCET Pala observed International Yoga Day with a special session conducted online via Google Meet, led by yoga instructor Ms. Rekha Ravi. During the session, cadets learned the significance of yoga for physical and mental well-being and practiced basic asanas under guidance. After the session, cadets performed yoga independently, posting geotagged photos as part of the celebration. The program emphasized discipline, concentration, and the importance of a balanced lifestyle. It also encouraged cadets to integrate yoga into their daily routine as a means to manage stress and improve overall health and productivity.

World Environment Day Celebration
On June 5th, the NCC unit of SJCET Palai observed World Environment Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation. A total of 28 cadets participated in the program, comprising 14 Senior Division (SD) and 14 Senior Wing (SW) cadets. As part of the initiative, cadets planted saplings in their homes and surroundings, carried out cleaning activities in nearby water bodies, and actively spread awareness on the importance of preserving nature. Their collective efforts reflected the spirit of responsibility and service, contributing towards the vision of a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet for generations to come.

Annual Training Camp at St. George’s College,Aruvithura
42 cadets participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp at St. George College Aruvithura organised by 17 K Bn NCC Pala from 23/05/2025 to 01/06/2025.
The Annual Training Camp held at St. George’s College, Aruvithura, provided cadets with intensive exposure to NCC training. Over the course of the camp, cadets actively participated in parade drills, physical fitness routines, theory sessions on leadership and discipline, and weapon training under the supervision of officers. Cultural and group activities were also included to encourage teamwork and camaraderie among cadets. The camp not only strengthened their physical endurance but also instilled values of punctuality, obedience, and self-reliance.

NCC Parades Conducted
During the training year 2024–25, a total of 17 regular NCC parades were successfully conducted by the SJCET NCC unit under the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC, Pala. These parades played a vital role in shaping cadets’ discipline, physical fitness, and leadership qualities. Each session focused on drill practice, theory classes, and personality development activities, aligning with the core values and objectives of the NCC. The consistent participation and dedication of the cadets throughout the year reflected their strong commitment to national service and self-improvement, marking another successful year of impactful NCC training.

ASTHRA 9.0 (2025)
As part of the Astra Tech Fest, the NCC cadets of SJCET organized a special event titled SHAURYA, which highlighted the spirit of defense and patriotism. The program featured a Weapon Display, allowing participants to explore various military weapons and learn about their functions. A Battlescreen Movie Screening offered an immersive cinematic experience focused on military themes. The Warzone Quiz challenged participants’ knowledge of defense history and tactics, encouraging critical thinking and awareness. SHAURYA received enthusiastic participation and appreciation, successfully adding a patriotic and educational edge to the tech fest’s vibrant atmosphere.

NCC C-Certificate Examination (15/02/2025 and 16/02/2025)
On 15th and 16th February 2025, NCC cadets of SJCET, under the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC Pala, appeared for the NCC C-Certificate Examination held at Baselios College, Kottayam. The event was overseen by Care Taker Officer (CTO) Dr. Tomson Thomas, who ensured smooth coordination. The examination marked a significant milestone in the cadets’ NCC journey, assessing their knowledge, training, and overall performance. With dedication and discipline, the cadets demonstrated their commitment to excellence, contributing to the successful and organized conduct of the event. It was a proud moment for the unit and a step toward future leadership.

NCC B-Certificate Examination (22/02/2025 and 23/02/2025)
On 22nd and 23rd February 2025, the NCC cadets of SJCET, under the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC Pala, appeared for the B-Certificate Examination conducted at St. Thomas College, Pala. Care Taker Officer (CTO) Dr. Tomson Thomas was present to oversee the proceedings and support the cadets. The examination marked an important milestone, evaluating their knowledge, practical skills, and training gained through NCC. The cadets displayed exemplary discipline, confidence, and commitment throughout the event. Their sincere efforts and performance contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the examination, making the institution proud.

76th Republic Day 2025
On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, SJCET Palai proudly celebrated the spirit of the Indian Constitution, which grants us rights and reminds us of our responsibilities as citizens of the world’s largest democracy. The celebrations began with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony led by Rev. Fr. Mathew Koramkuzha, the esteemed Manager of SJCET. The event was marked by the active and enthusiastic participation of our NCC cadets, who displayed commendable discipline and patriotism. Their presence and performance added pride and honour to the celebration, reflecting the true spirit of national unity and service.

College Athletic Meet (Marchpast)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of SJCET Palai displayed exemplary discipline and coordination during the march past at the College Athletic Meet held on 2nd February 2025. Dressed in crisp uniforms, the cadets marched in perfect synchrony, reflecting the core NCC values of leadership, resilience, and unity. Their performance highlighted a strong commitment to physical fitness, teamwork, and patriotism. The event was further elevated by a live band, adding energy and enthusiasm to the atmosphere. Army attachment camp (6 Garhwal Rifles) 2025
The Army Attachment Camp (6 Garhwal Rifles) was held from 5th to 16th January 2025 at Pangode Military Station, Thiruvananthapuram. L/Cpl Cathy Tomson and L/Cpl Ayswarya Lakshmi R represented the SJCET NCC unit at the camp. The training included physical exercises, weapon handling, tactical simulations, and skill development sessions aimed at improving both individual efficiency and team coordination. The camp provided a realistic experience of army life, helping cadets understand military discipline and operational readiness. It also fostered leadership, discipline, and camaraderie among the participants, contributing significantly to their personal and professional growth as future leaders of the nation.

Tug Of War Competition (ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP) 2025
Two cadets from the NCC Sub Unit of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai—L/Cpl Cathy Tomson and L/Cpl Ayswarya Lakshmi R—secured First Prize in the Tug of War Competition at the Garhwal Rifles Army Attachment Camp 2025. Their outstanding teamwork, strength, and determination were key to this remarkable achievement. Competing with dedication and spirit, they brought pride and recognition to the SJCET NCC unit. The victory reflected their commitment to excellence and the core values of the NCC, inspiring fellow cadets to strive for success in future events.

Combined Annual Training Camp at St. Thomas College Pala
Fourteen cadets from the SJCET NCC unit participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp held at St. Thomas College, Pala, from 20th to 29th December 2024. Organized by the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC, Palai, the ten-day camp provided rigorous training in drill, weapon handling, map reading, physical fitness, and personality development. It fostered discipline, leadership, and teamwork among cadets from various institutions. The camp offered a glimpse into military-style living, helping cadets strengthen their commitment to NCC values. It played a vital role in shaping responsible, confident youth prepared to serve the nation with pride.

EBSB-2 Camp (JNV Periye, Kasaragod) 2024
The NCC EBSB-2 (Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat) camp was held at Kasaragod from 23rd December 2024 to 3rd January 2025, promoting national integration and cultural exchange. L/Cpl Jayakrishnan K V represented the SJCET NCC unit at the camp. Cadets engaged in cultural performances, interactive sessions, and team-building activities that celebrated unity in diversity. The camp emphasized leadership, discipline, and camaraderie, fostering a sense of national pride. Structured training sessions and collaborative tasks helped strengthen bonds among cadets and contributed to their personal and social development. It offered a rich platform for holistic growth and cultural understanding.

EBSB Camp (Ettumanoor)
The NCC EBSB (Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat) camp was held at Ettumanoor from 21st October to 1st November 2024, aiming to foster national integration and cultural exchange among cadets. L/Cpl Abhijith J represented the SJCET NCC unit at the camp. The event featured cultural performances, interactive sessions, and team-building activities that promoted unity in diversity. Cadets from different regions bonded over shared values and experiences. The camp also emphasized discipline, leadership development, and social responsibility. It provided an enriching platform for cadets to grow personally and culturally, contributing to the spirit of national unity and mutual respect.

NCC DAY Celebration (Cyclothon)
As part of the NCC Day celebrations, a Cyclothon was organized on 24th November 2024 to promote fitness, environmental awareness, and camaraderie among cadets. The event witnessed active participation from the SJCET NCC unit, with cadets showcasing high energy and enthusiasm. The Cyclothon aimed to spread messages of health, sustainability, and social responsibility while reinforcing the core NCC values of discipline and teamwork. Safety measures were strictly followed, with volunteers stationed along the route to provide support. Overall, the event was a great success in inspiring youth engagement in fitness and environmental consciousness.

NCC Enrollment 2024-27 Batch
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) enrollment for the 2024–2027 batch at SJCET began with a structured process involving eligibility criteria such as physical fitness and academic qualifications. Interested students were required to submit application forms, usually available through educational institutions or the official NCC website. The NCC program focuses on building discipline, leadership qualities, and patriotism among youth. The Army Attachment Camp (2 Madras) was conducted from 19th to 30th October 2024 at Pangode Military Station, Thiruvananthapuram. JUO Rajesh S, CSM Dhanush O V, and SGT Albin Johnson represented the SJCET NCC unit. The camp aimed to improve operational readiness through physical training, tactical simulations, weapon handling, and team-building exercises. It offered cadets an immersive military environment that strengthened discipline, leadership, and cooperation. The intensive sessions helped boost both individual capability and group coordination. Overall, the camp played a vital role in shaping the cadets’ character, professionalism, and dedication to the core values of the NCC.

Twenty-one cadets participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp held at Labour India Public School, Marangattupilly, from 21st to 30th August 2024. The camp was organized by the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC, Palai. Over ten days, cadets received intensive training in drill, weapon handling, map reading, physical fitness, and personality development. The camp emphasized discipline, teamwork, and leadership, uniting cadets from various institutions. It provided a valuable experience of military-style living, helping cadets deepen their commitment to the core values of the NCC. NCC Pipping Ceremony (2024)
The NCC Pipping Ceremony 2024 was a proud and significant event where cadets were honored with rank insignias, recognizing their leadership, discipline, and dedication. Senior officers or instructors pinned the ranks onto the cadets’ uniforms, symbolizing their elevation to new roles and responsibilities within the NCC. This ceremonial moment marked an important milestone in each cadet’s journey, reflecting their hard work and readiness to take on greater challenges. It reinforced their commitment to the values of service, teamwork, and leadership, while also inspiring fellow cadets to strive for excellence in their NCC careers and future endeavors.

Combined Annual Training Camp at Labour India Public School Marangattupilly
Eleven cadets from our unit actively participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp held at Labour India Public School, Marangattupilly. The camp was organized by 17 Kerala Battalion NCC, Palai, and took place from 4th July to 13th July 2024. During the 10-day camp, cadets underwent intensive training in drill, physical fitness, map reading, weapon training, and leadership activities. They also took part in cultural events, competitions, and group tasks that promoted teamwork and discipline. The camp offered a valuable opportunity for cadets to build character, improve their skills, and gain deeper insights into the values of the NCC.

78th Independence Day Celebration
On August 15th, 2024, our nation proudly celebrated its 78th Independence Day with immense patriotic spirit. At St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, the occasion was commemorated with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony on campus. The National Flag was hoisted by Msgr. Dr. Joseph Maleparampil, Chairman of SJCET, who also addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. He emphasized the importance of freedom, responsibility, and the role of youth in nation-building. The event, attended by NCC cadets, faculty, and students, reflected unity, pride, and deep respect for India’s glorious journey and sacrifices of the past.

Raksha Campaign
The NCC cadets of SJCET Palai , subunit of 17(K) Bn NCC palai organized a relief campaign titled “RAKSHA” to support the victims of the Wayanad disaster. Demonstrating strong community spirit and social responsibility, the cadets mobilized resources and raised approximately ₹53,000 in funds along with essential goods worth ₹13,000. All collected contributions were handed over to the Pala Rescue Team to aid ongoing disaster relief and management efforts in the affected regions. The campaign reflected the cadets’ dedication to humanitarian service and their active role in addressing real-time community challenges through unity and compassion.

HIV awareness (Red ribbon club)
The NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology,Palai, sub Unit of 17(K) Bn NCC, Palai actively participated in the District-Level Marathon Race organized by the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) as part of an awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS. The event took place at CMS College, Kottayam on July 2024. The marathon aimed to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and promote healthy living among the youth. Our cadets showed great enthusiasm and commitment throughout the event, reflecting the spirit of social responsibility and community engagement upheld by the NCC.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, a Treasure Hunt program was conducted on 26th July 2024 to honor the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers. The event aimed to instill a sense of patriotism, teamwork, and awareness among cadets about the significance of the day. The participants enthusiastically engaged in the activity, solving clues and completing tasks that tested their knowledge and coordination. The program concluded with the declaration of three winners who successfully completed the hunt. The event was a meaningful tribute to our heroes and a memorable experience for all the participants.

Combined Annual Training Camp at St. George College Aruvithura
Seventeen cadets from NCC SJCET unit actively participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held at St. George College, Aruvithura. The camp was organized by the 17 Kerala Battalion NCC, Palai, and took place from the 4th to the 13th of May, 2024. During the ten-day camp, cadets underwent rigorous training that included drill, weapon training, map reading, physical fitness exercises, and personality development sessions. The camp also fostered discipline and leadership skills among cadets from various institutions. It provided a valuable opportunity for cadets to experience military-style living and build a stronger commitment to the values of the NCC.

Environment Day
On June 5, 2024, the NCC unit of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, observed World Environment Day by organizing a tree plantation drive on campus. A total of 25 cadets actively participated in the event, along with faculty members and college authorities. The initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation and raise awareness about the importance of protecting nature. Saplings were planted near the main block, symbolizing the collective responsibility of individuals towards a greener future. The event concluded with a pledge to reduce pollution and preserve natural resources. It was a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability.

International Yoga Day
On June 21, 2024, International Yoga Day was celebrated at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, with great enthusiasm. A total of 23 NCC cadets along with NSS volunteers actively participated in the yoga session held at the college auditorium. The event aimed to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through the practice of yoga. Guided by experienced instructors and in the presence of Army personnel, participants performed various asanas with focus and discipline. The session highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life and concluded with a call to embrace yoga for a healthier and balanced lifestyle.

SJCET Sports Day was conducted on 28/02/2024. NCC cadets actively participated in the march-past. C-Certificate Examination 2024
NCC C-Certificate examination was scheduled on 17th and 18th February 2024 at Police Parade Ground and BCM College, Kottayam. The practical test was conducted on February 17th at Police Parade Ground Kottayam. The written test was scheduled on February 18th 2024. But unfortunately, the question paper was leaked and the written exam was canceled. The rescheduled written exam was conducted on 03/03/2024 at St. Thomas College Pala and 17 cadets appeared in the examination. The NCC C-Certificate Examination encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of cadets in various aspects, including theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and leadership abilities. It typically consists of written tests, practical assessments, and viva voce examinations covering subjects such as drill, weapon training, map reading, and general military knowledge.

B-Certificate Examination 2024
NCC B-Certificate examination was conducted on 10th and 11th February 2024 at St. Thomas College, Palai. The practical test was on February 10th and the written test was scheduled on February 11th 2024. 26 cadets of SJCET Palai appeared in the examination. The NCC B-Certificate Examination encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of cadets in various aspects, including theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and leadership abilities. It typically consists of written tests, practical assessments, and viva voce examinations covering subjects such as drill, weapon training, map reading, and general military knowledge.

75th Republic Day Celebration 2024
On January 26, 2024, the nation joyously celebrated Republic Day with fervor and pride. The day commenced with the iconic flag-hoisting ceremony, symbolizing the unity and sovereignty of the nation by Msgr. Dr. Joseph Maleparampil, Chairman, SJCET Manager, in the presence of NCC cadets. He then delivered the republic day speech followed by the flag salute by the NCC cadets.

Armed Forces Flag Day Celebration
At SJCET, the NCC Day and Armed Forces Flag Day were celebrated with fervor and patriotism on December 11th. The event showcased the institution’s commitment to honoring and recognizing the contributions of the armed forces.The distinguished guests of the day were C.O Col.S. Michael Raj and A.O Col. M. P. Dinesh. Students and faculty came together to commemorate these occasions, fostering a spirit of unity and respect for the armed forces. The celebrations included various activities and programs to express gratitude and support for the brave men and women in uniform.

Mega Blood Donation Camp
On November 26th, 2023, St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, in collaboration with the Lions Club and Matha Hospital, organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp. This noble initiative aimed to address the critical shortage of blood in healthcare facilities and save lives in need. Notably, NCC cadets also actively participated in this humanitarian endeavor by generously donating blood. Their selfless contribution exemplified the spirit of service and solidarity ingrained in the ethos of the National Cadet Corps. CATC at Labour India, Marangattupilly
The CATC camp at NCC, held from (18/10/2023 – 27/10/2023) in Labour India Marangattupilly aimed to enhance cadets’ leadership, teamwork, and character. Through drill practice, leadership workshops, and fieldcraft exercises, cadets honed their skills and fostered camaraderie. Cultural events and community service projects further enriched their experience. The camp instilled discipline, values, and physical fitness, shaping cadets into responsible leaders and exemplary citizens. As they return to their units, cadets carry with them newfound confidence, friendships, and a sense of pride in their NCC affiliation, poised to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration 2023
St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, observed Gandhi Jayanti with reverence on October 2nd 2023, unveiling a Mahatma Gandhi Statue by Honorable Chairman Msgr. Dr. Joseph Maleparampil. The solemn ceremony, attended by dignitaries and faculty, paid homage to Gandhiji’s principles of truth and non-violence. The inauguration of the newly erected Gandhi statue marked a significant event. Following the statue’s inauguration, the floral tribute was done by NCC Cadets as a gesture of respect. The statue serves as a timeless tribute to Gandhi’s ideals, inspiring reflection and contemplation on his teachings of peace and social justice. The event underscored the college’s commitment to upholding Gandhian values and fostering a culture of integrity and compassion in the community.

World Heart Day Celebration
On September 29th, 2023, St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, marked World Heart Day with a spirited Flash Mob organized by students in collaboration with Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai. The dynamic performance aimed to raise awareness about heart health, emphasizing the importance of exercise and healthy lifestyles. Medical professionals from Mar Sleeva Medicity enriched the event with valuable insights. Through vibrant dance routines and informative discussions, the celebration effectively promoted cardiovascular wellness. The collaborative effort underscored the college’s commitment to fostering a culture of health and well-being in the community, leaving a lasting impact on participants.

Annual Training Camp at St. Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor
The Annual Training Camp (ATC) at NCC, spanning (25/08/2023 – 03/09/2023) at St. Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor, served as a pivotal training ground for cadets. Combining theoretical learning with practical application, cadets underwent rigorous drills, leadership workshops, and outdoor exercises. From weapons training to map reading, they honed essential military skills while fostering teamwork and discipline. The camp featured community service projects, instilling a sense of social responsibility. Cultural events and sports activities promoted camaraderie and healthy competition. The ATC culminated in a display of cadets’ prowess during the closing ceremony. Through this immersive experience, cadets emerged empowered, ready to embody the values of the NCC and serve their nation with pride.

77th Independence Day Celebration
On August 15th, 2023, our nation commemorated its 77th Independence Day with grandeur and patriotic fervor. Our college celebrated Independence Day by hoisting the national flag in the campus. Msgr. Dr. Joseph Maleparampil, Chairman, SJCET hoisted the flag and delivered a message to the cadets and students.

Yoga Day Celebration
On June 21, 2023, our institution celebrated World Yoga Day with great enthusiasm, and the event was graced by the presence of NCC cadets. The program commenced with the esteemed inauguration by Mr. Mani C. Kappen, MLA of Pala Constituency, who emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. NCC cadets participated wholeheartedly, demonstrating various yoga poses and breathing techniques. The event aimed to promote the ancient practice of yoga and its numerous health benefits among students and staff. It served as a reminder of the significance of incorporating yoga into our daily lives for holistic wellness.
2022 – 23
2022-2023 SJCET NCC Sub Unit

In this academic year 2022-23 we had done several activities in our campus. On June 21 2022 our campus had conducted the World Yoga Day and our NCC cadets took part in the program. Our cadets also participated in CATC and ATCs conducted by the 17 (K) Bn NCC Pala. 11 cadets attended CATC at Labour India School from 01 July to 10 July 202


On 26th November we conducted a blood donation camp in association with NSS unit and the Lions Club. In this program our cadets had donated blood.
5 of our cadets attended CATC at Deva Matha College Kuravilangad from 04 September to 11 September 2022 and 36 cadets attended ATC camp at St.Stephen’s College, Uzhavoor from 22 Dec to 29 Dec 2022.


World Yoga Day was celebrated in our institution on June 21, 2023 with the participation of NCC cadets. Mr. Mani C. Kappen, MLA, Palai Constituency inaugurated the programme.


REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
On 26 January 2023 our college celebrated the Republic Day by hoisting the national flag in the campus. Rev. Fr. Mathew Korankuzha, Manager, SJCET hoisted the flag and delivered a message to the cadets and students.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
On 15 August 2023 our college celebrated the Independence Day by hoisting the national flag in the campus. Msgr. Dr. Joseph Maleparampil, Chairman, SJCET hoisted the flag and delivered message to the cadets and students.

NCC Day Celebrations
The NCC Day was celebrated on 27th November 2021. The Commanding Officer of 17/Kerala Battalion Col. Michel Raj delivered the keynote address in the presence of H.E. Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, Bishop of Palai. 108 cadets attended the celebrations.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION
Date: – 21 June 2021.
Participation in NCC activities was online due to the Covid19 pandemic. On 21 June 2021, cadets celebrated International Yoga Day by conducting Yoga through videos, performed by each cadet.
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

On 26 July 2021, NCC Cadets commemorated the Kargil Vijay Diwas.

On 31st May 2022 cadets observed world tobacco day to create awareness among the youth about the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use. A video presentation was conducted through online mode about the harmful effects of tobacco on the human body

2020 – 2021
The Activities of NCC started in SJCET on the 7th of July 2020 with the approval of 160 cadets to be inducted and trained to serve the nation.
During the academic year 2020 – 2021, various activities were organized by the NCC Unit. Due to lockdown imposed by COVID 19 protocols, trainings and activities were done online to keep cadets spirits up and running.
