LET’S GET YOUR DREAMS INCUBATED

The SJCET Startup Bootcamp- IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre) was set up on 9th March 2015 as a part of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) initiative to develop a startup culture amongst students. The IEDCs are platforms set up in Engineering, Management, Arts & Science Colleges and Polytechnics with an aim to provide students an opportunity to experiment and innovate. KSUM has set up IEDCs in 226 institutions across the State which provide avenues for creative students to learn, collaborate and transform their innovative ideas into prototypes of viable products and services. IEDCs works as the first launch pad for a student’s entrepreneurial journey and provide them with access to cutting edge technology, world class infrastructure, high quality mentorship, early risk capital and global exposure.
With the various ideation and problem solving maker events conducted by the Bootcamp, students are encouraged to challenge themselves and come up with innovative ideas that. Students are provided with expert mentorship to convert their ideas into prototypes, and eventually into marketable products. Infusory Future Tech Labs Pvt Ltd ( graduated in 2018) and Lamaara Technologies Pvt Ltd (graduated in 2019) are two startup companies founded by the students of SJCET Palai and incubated in the SJCET Startup Bootcamp. During their incubation period, Lamaara Technologies Pvt Ltd received a brand equity investment worth 50 lakh Rs from the Times Group.
SJCET Bootcamp received the Best Performing IEDC award in 2017 and 2019. In 2019, Bootcamp conducted the Startup Yathra and also received the Hero of the Startup award, the best sustainable startup award, and the best women wannapreneur award. In the Smart India Hackathon 2019, organised by MHRD and AICTE , the product ‘Blackbox for drones’ from Bootcamp received the best innovative product award. In 2020, SJCET Startup Bootcamp hosted the NASA Space Apps Challenge and gained recognition all over the nation.
Other major achievements are: NASSCOM STARTUP 20-20 winner, 2015. Team PENTA from SJCET Palai won the first prize worth 1 lakh Rs at the ICTT ECHATHLON organised by the ICT Academy of Kerala in 2016.

To develop an ecosystem with required infrastructure that can enable students and faculty to innovate and prototype their potential ideas with industrial standards and support from Government, industry and reputed academic institutions around the world and help them to realize their potentials.
  • Providing seminars and workshops in ideation, skill development and entrepreneurial awareness
  • Developing technical communities in the campus
  • Encouraging the students and faculties to carry out innovative research work.
  • Creating maker spaces to prototype ideas and incubation space to marketable prototypes.

hyperGO

‘hyperGO is a hyperlocal delivery/e-commerce company devoted towards, delivering the best service at your doorstep, and we have joined hands to fight the covid-19 battle. The parent company Hyperthink Technologies LLP, has launched hyperGO, an online platform for delivery of pharmaceutical items and groceries (including vegetables and meat) at doorstep, in Kochi. Online Pharmacy Customers can order medicines by sending doctor’s prescription (for prescription medicines). Online Grocery On the other hand we are selling groceries, vegetables, fish and meat in an innovative manner where the customer has an option to book ‘hyperGO truck’ through the mobile app allowing customers to pick and choose all their items from their doorstep.’

ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS

Performance Grant

Received an amount of Rs. 2 Lakhs as a performance grant from Kerala Startup Mission. This grant is allocated to top performing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centers across Kerala. The evaluation is based on the activities , achievements and  fund utilization.

Smart India Hackathon 2018

MHRD, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4C), and Persistent Systems is organizing Smart India Hackathon 2018, a unique initiative to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our country.

Startup Weekend Kochi

Startup Weekend is a 54-hour weekend event, during which groups of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, students, graphic artists and more pitch ideas for new startup companies, form teams around those ideas, and work to develop a working prototype, demo, or presentation at the end.
Students from St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology participated in this event.

DSC Summit 2018

As a Developer Student Club Lead of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and Technology, Palai, Reon Saji got the opportunity to attend World’s first DSC Summit in Goa. The summit focused on skills/knowledge helpful for the student Leads to impact their campus/community.
