What is meant by ” Software Freedom Week”? Is it something to do with accessing software free of charge or removing the word ” software ” from our daily lives, these were some of the vital questions raised by software experts setting the tone for the rich discussions and deliberations during the celebrations of ” Software Freedom Week”, organised by AMISUN- Amity Sun Technology Club (joint collaboration between Amity and Sun Micro Soft Systems) at Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida. With the prices of software rising and piracy increasing in the software industry, ” Software Freedom Week ” aims to build aims to build an awareness in the students as to the number of software which can be easily accessed free of charge including Open-Solaris and Open-Java and can be used, modified and re- distributed to the community.
